LLA presents PUBCOOP at Frankfurt Book Fair

International Frankfurt Book Fair 2016 took place from October 19th to 23d. It is the most important trade, meetings and discussions place for publishers, authors and copyright agents in the world. In Lithuanian Publishers Association (LLA) collective publisher’s stand introduced to international specialists new works and titles of Lithuanian literature.

International Frankfurt Book Fair 2016 took place from October 19th to 23d. It is the most important trade, meetings and discussions place for publishers, authors and copyright agents in the world. In Lithuanian Publishers Association (LLA) collective publisher’s stand introduced to international specialists new works and titles of Lithuanian literature.
LLA organized Lithuania’s book publishing, literature and book art presentation through book collection and dissemination material in Lithuanian stand (No. A31, 5.0 hall). Visitors were provided with informative material about Lithuania, authors, literature news, publishing market, printing and publishing houses. Also, events and meetings were held in the stand. Frankfurt Book Fair participants, visitors and representatives of numerous institutions were invited to Lithuanian stand opening which occurred in 19th October. During the event Lithuanian culture institute presented the cultural program of “Lithuania – guest of honor in Leipzig book fair” project and LLA talked about strategically important international projects PUBCOOP and ALDUS for publishing specialists. PUBCOOP dissemination reached around 100 attendees of the stand opening event, including representatives of various publishing and printing houses from Lithuania and foreign countries.

Guests such as journalists, publishers, international project partners and literature critics were warmly greeted by Laimonas Ubavičius (councilor, Lithuanian ministry of culture), Alvydas Šlepikas (writer), Aušrinė Žilinskienė (director, Lithuanian culture institute) and Aida V. Dobkevičiūtė (executive director, LLA). Speakers highlighted, that introducing Lithuania’s publishing and literature in international projects, we attend to expose Lithuania, its reflection in literature and current identity in Europe, topics that are relevant and important to European countries, cultural and literary exchange and diversity in EU.
